The shortest player of England’s last year’s World cup squad and Nottinghamshire batsman, James Taylor, was forced to retire early from the International Cricket on 13th April 2016, due to his bad heart condition.
The news came into the light after he was suffering from viral infection, that forced him to miss the warm up game against Cambridge MCCU last week.
After scans, it is revealed that he is suffering from Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Arrhythmia (ARVC), rare heart condition.The biggest symptom of this heart condition is sudden risk of death or collapse.
Many athletes like Fabrice Muamba (survived, yet to undergo treatment) Tim Nicot and Gregory Mertens (both died on pitch on different games) shows how lethal this heart condition is.
However, James Taylor had his say to his fans on twitter:
“Safe to say this has been the toughest week of my life! My world is upside down. But I’m here to stay and I’m battling on! #lifestooshort.”

1. He captained the National team against Ireland on May 2015.
2. He scored 98 for England in the opening game in ICC World Cup 2015.
3. He was a part of the 2-1 Test series winning squad against South Africa.
4. He is one inch taller than Sachin Tendulkar.
