Team India’s young sensation KL Rahul, who became the 2nd fastest centurion in T20 Internationals during a match played against the West Indies at Florida, opens up about his latest hairstyle and the braids.
The right-handed batsman who belongs to Mangalore, Karnataka said that his parents wouldn’t approve his new hairstyle but it is his decision to carry on with it. He also said that he always loved to experiment with his hair and the complaint regarding it always reached his parents while he was in school.
The 24 year-old said that he has always followed football superstar David Beckham for his hair style and also the tattoos.
Talking to bcci.tv about his new hairstyle he said, “I went to a salon and I’ve been wanting to get this hairstyle for a while since we spent a few months in West Indies and I liked the way the guys had their hair braided and I have long hair and I don’t think I’ll have them for long. So I thought one last style with the long hair and when I go back home whatever I want. I have always liked to change things and have different hairstyles for different seasons. I have liked to play with my hair. I didn’t know if I could do it in India so I am in Miami and what better place to get it done.”
What would have been the reaction of his parents?
“Sure the reaction would be very obvious. I am sorry Ma, I am sorry dad but they know it they have seen me do a lot of things. In school they had a lot of complaints going about my hair so they are used to it. I am sure they won’t approve it. But it’s my decision.” he added.
Did he face problem while wearing the helmet with the braids?
He explained, “That’s the only time it becomes a problem when my hair is under the helmet. I have just gotten used to it. When I am fielding or when I am outside it doesn’t matter much something that doesn’t really bother me or affect me while playing cricket.”
