KL Rahul- The new poster boy of Indian cricket after Virat Kohli

Team India’s young sensation KL Rahul is the first player ever to score a hundred in the first innings as an opener both in Tests & ODI’s.

After scoring his maiden T20I century in United States of America, he also joined the group of his teammates, Suresh Raina and Rohit Sharma, who were the only two Indian batsmen to score a hundred in all formats of International cricket before him.

Rahul is also the second player to smash a six to complete his hundred in all the 3 formats besides Rohit Sharma.

The 24 old who belongs to Karnataka was also the silent killer in IPL season 9 as he scored consistently for his franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore along with skipper Virat Kohli.

Recently, the flamboyant West Indies opener Chris Gayle also said that KL Rahul can give Kohli a run for his money.

“Rahul is a super player and has been scoring runs in all formats of the game. He is definitely one for the future. Rahul is someone who will be giving Virat Kohli a run for his money, and he works extremely hard on his fitness and on his game. He is definitely going great guns and all he needs to do is keep working hard and the results will follow,” Gayle said.

Speaking to Times of India, batting coach Sanjay Bangar praised KL Rahul for his performance across all formats.

“He (Rahul) has created a lot of competition among the boys. Rahul has made it count each time he has gone in to bat. Be it the Test centuries he scored in Sydney, Colombo, Jamaica or the hundreds in ODIs and T20s – Rahul has been fantastic,” said Bangar.
