1.) MS Dhoni’s changeover from football to cricket
Dhoni had a keen interest in playing football during in his childhood and was the goal-keeper of his school team.
As shown in the movie, Dhoni first refused to play cricket when his class-mate asked him regarding it since he was not interested in playing with the small ball. In the film dialogue he said: “Chhoti ball se kaun khelega?”
It was his sports teacher who switched him towards cricket. He was selected as a wicket-keeper of his school-team after regular practice sessions.
Dhoni had a great love for batting since his early age and he used to smash sixes all over the park. In one inter-school final match, Dhoni also scored a double hundred against the strongest opponent.
2.) Dhoni’s trademark helicopter shot
We all believe that Dhoni invented the ‘helicopter-shot’ but it’s not true. As showcased in the movie, it was his childhood friend and club teammate, Santosh Lal who passed on this shot to Mahi. Dhoni learned the helicopter shot from his friend after he saw him smashing a ‘yorker’ for six.
