Sushant Singh Rajput starrer, ‘MS Dhoni:The Untold Story’ is rocking in the cinema halls ever after the completion of one week of its release. The fans across the country are showing great interest in the movie based on the life of their favourite skipper.
Earlier, it was reported that character of another star batsman, Virat Kohli will also play an important role in the movie.
Apparently, Pakistani actor, Fawad Khan was playing Kohli’s part in the biopic but his role got chopped off right before the release of the movie.
As per a report of an entertainment website, a source close to the movie revealed that Fawad was indeed a part of the film and had even shot for his role with the director Neeraj Pandey and Sushant.
He also told that Dhoni’s equation with Virat Kohli was an integral part of the biopic until a week before the movie’s release. Fawad’s role was supposed to be a surprise for the viewers.
Why didn’t we see Fawad in the biopic?
One of the major reasons that is expected of chopping Fawad’s role is due to the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan after the unfortunate Uri attacks.
Now, Indian producers have banned Pakistan actors from Indian TV shows and movies until the things get resolved between the two countries.
A source who worked on the film was quoted saying, “Neeraj Pandey didn’t want any negative publicity or controversy around the film. Though Fawad Khan’s character was an integral part of the film, but it wasn’t as important as that of MS Dhoni’s. So he thought it’s better to do away with the Fawad’s portions in the film than face the ire of this controversy. Neeraj didn’t want the focus of the film to shift from MS Dhoni and Sushant Singh Rajput to Fawad Khan, Virat Kohli and Pakistan”.
The source also said that Fawad wasn’t even aware that his part has been omitted from the movie.
