During the third ODI against South Africa in 2006, former Indian pacer Zaheer Khan bowled the best first over of his career.
On the first delivery of his over, there was a huge LBW appeal against the South African skipper Graeme Smith as he bowled a full length swinging delivery which pitched just outside off stump and raps on the pads of Smith going forward. The next ball swung in and sneaked through bat and pad, dislodging the off stump of Smith.
Facing the third ball of the over, the next batsman Jacques Kallis just survived. On the 4th delivery, which was full and moving away, Kallis edged it into the hands of first slip fielder, Sachin Tendulkar.
The next two balls were played successfully by Herschelle Gibbs and the double wicket-maiden of Zaheer came to an end.
