Sachin Tendulkar and Shah Rukh Khan joins the Global Citizen Movement



Coldplay is all set to perform in India for the first time in association with Global Citizen India. Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar along with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan have recently extended their support to join the Global Citizen Movement.

The two big celebrities of India will be making their presence at the debut India edition of the Global Citizen Festival on 19th November.

The inaugural Global Citizen Festival India will be headlined by Coldplay, Jay Z, Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh, Katrina Kaif, A.R. Rahman, Farhan Akhtar, Shraddha Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Arijit Singh, Dia Mirza, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Monali Thakur.

As per the reports, apart from Shah Rukh and Tendulkar, other stars to join the movement are Ayushmann Khurrana, Malaika Arora Khan, Parineeti Chopra, Sakshi Malik, Sonakshi Sinha and Vijender Singh.

Earlier, it was already confirmed that Aamir Khan, A.R. Rahman, Amitabh Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Shraddha Kapoor and others will be a part of the Global Citizen festival.

Meanwhile, Sachin Tendulkar, who is also the Global Citizen India ambassador said in a statement, “As a country India is united with the world in fighting open defecation and improper sanitation. Our efforts in sanitation play an important role in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and also ensuring basic human dignity. I am pleased to lend my support to Global Citizen India in their efforts towards the sustainable development goals of water, sanitation and hygiene.”

Actress Parineeti Chopra said that she is “thrilled to be part of the Global Citizen India initiative as it educates people about crucial global issues — gender equality, water, sanitation and hygiene, quality education being just a few of them”.

This six-hour concert will also feature live musical performances, stars, dancing, and short films by eminent filmmakers.
