On Thursday, the Haryana off-spinner, Jayant Yadav became the 286th cricketer to play Test cricket for India as he made his debut against England in the second Test in Vizag. He replaced his Haryana team-mate Amit Mishra in the playing XI for India.

On Day 2 of the Test match, the off-spin bowling allrounder provided his team with vital lower-order runs and then conjured a wicket out of nowhere in the field, and even made excellent use of the DRS.

The 26 year-old became the first Indian player to be a part of DRS (Umpire Decision Review System) on debut (either as batsman/bowler). In fact, he was a part of England’s review while batting and during bowling which resulted him his maiden Test wicket.

Yadav picked up his first wicket with the dismissal of Moeen Ali to an LBW decision that was ascertained after a review.
