Ricky Ponting picks his best all-time IPL XI

Former Australian skipper and Mumbai Indians coach Ricky Ponting has picked his all-time best XI from 10 years of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

With the 10th season of the Indian Premier League nearing an end, Ponting has completed the difficult task of selecting the best XI he’s ever seen in the tournament.

The Australian legend was only allowed to pick four overseas players in his all-time XI, in keeping with the rules of the tournament. Seven spots were fixed for Indian players and 4 were for overseas players.

Well, Ponting’s selection has also raised few eyebrows as AB de Villiers, who has dominated almost every single bowler and on numerous occasions single-handedly took the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to victory was left out of the playing XI. Apart from that, big names such as Sunil Narine and Brendon Mccullum were not included as well.

Ricky Ponting’s best all-time IPL XI:

1.) Chris Gayle
2.) David Warner
3.) Virat Kohli
4.) Rohit Sharma
5.) Suresh Raina
6.) M.S. Dhoni (c & wk)
7.) Dwayne Bravo
8.) Harbhajan Singh
9.) Amit Mishra
10.) Lasith Malinga
11.) Ashish Nehra
