England beat India to clinch the ICC Women’s world cup 2017 title for which 8 teams were competing for a month.

Though England had the last punch but still tournament was full of brilliance.

1.) Harmanpreet Kaur:

Harmanpreet’s unbeaten 171 off just 115 balls against Australia in the semi-final will be remembered for years in Indian cricket history. She single handily pulled out her team out of danger and fought against the defending champions till the last ball. Her heroics helped India to beat the mighty Aussies and reach the grand finale.

2.) Anya Shrubsole:

England’s right-hand medium pacer Anya Shrubsole had a dream finale at the Lords. When India was looking comfortable to win the World cup and only a magical spell could have saved England; it was Anya who stood up. She took 6 wickets for 46 and dismissed well-settled Punam Raut (86 runs) which became the turning point of the match.

3.) Chamari Atapattu:

The highest individual score of the tournament came from the Sri Lankan skipper, but unfortunately, it couldn’t land on the winning side. While fighting a lone war against the Australian bowling, Chamari Atapattu scored her career best of 178 off just 143 balls with the help of 6 sixes and 22 fours. When her teammates were struggling to survive, the southpaw made batting look ridiculously easy.
