Anil Kumble’s new rule, latecomers to pay USD 50 fine

Team India’s head coach Anil Kumble has laid down a new set of rules for the Indian team. ‘Jumbo’ has told the players to cough up $50 if they are late for the team bus!

According to a report in Indian Express, Kumble has set the rules to bring discipline in the team. He also stated that his doors are always open and any player can come and chat with him. Kumble has also fixed the time slot for the support staff and team masseurs, and from now on players can’t ask for a massage at their own will. A fixed schedule has been provided to the masseurs and the players can use their services only during that time.

A source was also quoted saying, “The coach wants to strike a perfect balance between work, discipline, fun and relaxation. The sessions include a strict training along with scuba diving and travelling. Kumble has planned it well to keep an organised schedule, not overseeing small things.”

Newly appointed coach has also suggested the BCCI to inform the players in advance about the tours and to handle better logistics. Many players had previously complained of not being informed in advance by BCCI about their schedules, which lead to clashes in their personal lives.

“As a coach, all I sought was organised preparations for the team and informed inputs to the captain and the team to strategise better,” Kumble added.
