For a nation obsessed with cricket and Bollywood alike, knowing MS Dhoni‘s life story is every Indian’s dream come true. This is going to be the story of India’s most loved captain and we can’t wait to watch it.
And apparently, the movie will be throwing light on a certain phase of Dhoni’s life unknown to most, that of his first love story, that met with an unfortunate end.
The second song of MS Dhoni’s biopic ‘Kaun Tujhe’ was released by the makers and it became an instant hit on social media. Kaun Tujhe introduces us to MS Dhoni’s love interest in his biopic played by actress Disha Patani.
It was already reported earlier that MS Dhoni’s biopic will portray his first ever love story. The song gives us a strong inkling that Disha may be playing Dhoni’s first love interest, Priyanka Jha, who tragically got killed in an accident back in the year 2002.
According to a report by Mumbai Mirror, sources reveal that Dhoni was in a romantic relationship with a girl called Priyanka Jha, during his 20’s. This was the time when he was trying to carve his place in Team India.
Dhoni was starting to make his name in international cricket and just when his popularity was on a rise, tragedy hit him hard. The love of his life, Priyanka, passed away in a road accident.
Those close to him feared that he might fall apart, but Dhoni, just like he has showcased grit and determination on the green turf time and again, did an encore off it to claw his way back to normal life and tour Bangladesh with a star-studded Indian outfit.
The right-hander was unlucky to be dismissed on a naught in his very first game against Bangladesh, but he made his impression in the second match of the ODI series versus Pakistan at Visakhapatnam in 2005. He scored 148 off 123 deliveries, surpassing the earlier record for the highest score by an Indian wicket-keeper, a record that he would rewrite before the year ended.
Post that, everything is history as Dhoni rose through the ranks and finally became the skipper of the Men in Blue. But even after his marriage with Sakshi Singh Rawat, on July 4, 2010, Dhoni reportedly could never forget Priyanka.
The director of MS Dhoni’s biopic Neeraj Pandey had taken Captain Cool’s consent to incorporate this romantic track in the film. After some deliberation, Dhoni agreed that this chapter of his life needs to be told to the world.
