Ravichandran Ashwin becomes fastest Asian bowler to pick 200 Test wickets



On Day 4 of the first Test match being played at the Green park, Kanpur, Ravichandran Ashwin entered his name into the record books after becoming the fastest Asian bowler to pick 200 Test wickets.

Ashwin completed this milestone after picking up the wicket of New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson. He is also the second fastest bowler overall to achieve this feat behind only Australia’s Clarrie Grimmett (36 Tests).

The Indian off-spinner reached the milestone in his 37th match beating Australia’s Dennis Lillee and Pakistan’s Waqar Younis who completed their 200 Test scalps in theirs 38 Test matches.
