Sourav Ganguly picks his IPL Fantasy team

Amidst the ongoing 10th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), former India captain Sourav Ganguly shared his IPL Fantasy team via Twitter.

In his team, Ganguly has picked the most number of players from Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians, Rising Pune Supergiant, Delhi Daredevils and lastly Kolkata Knight Riders, which he captained in the opening season of the cash-rich tournament.

He went with Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir as the opening pair, a combination that highlights the aggressive nature of his philosophy.

At no. 3 and No. 4, Dada picked Steve Smith and AB de Villiers respectively, adding strength and mettle in the middle order, followed by young gun Nitish Rana at no. 5.

Next comes Manish Pandey and Rishabh Pant at the 5th and the 6th place . While Pandey is a player who settles in and then plays his shots, Pant is a destructive batsman by nature and gets going from the word “go”!

Ganguly includes two brilliant spinners, Sunil Narine and Amit Mishra in his bowling attack, while picks Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the pace department.

South Africa’s Chris Morris, who brings about some pace and bounce into his bowling, and can strike the ball a fair distance while batting down the order, is the only all-rounder in Ganguly’s fantasy XI.

Sourav Ganguly’s IPL Fantasy XI:

Virat Kohli, Gautam Gambhir, Steve Smith, AB de Villiers, Nitish Rana, Manish Pandey, Rishabh Pant, Sunil Narine, Amit Mishra, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Chris Morris
