When Shane Warne ‘poked’ actress Shilpa Shetty

Former Australia captain Shane Warne is a man of many talents. After enjoying a successful career, the cricket legend has gone on to earn a name for himself on the poker table as well.

Warne not only loves playing poker but is also quite good at it. Also actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra recently revealed that she likes to play poker and it was the Aussie who introduced her to the sport.

Shilpa, who was also the co-owner of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Rajasthan Royals, earlier captained by Warne, was speaking during the launch of the Indian Poker League headed by her husband Raj Kundra.

“I’m a poker player but not like these pros of the game. I’m still learning the nuances of the sport. I was introduced to the sport by Shane Warne couple of years ago,” said the Bollywood diva.

She also emphasised the fact that poker is a game of skills contrary to the perception that it’s gambling. “I believe this is skill-based sport contrary to the belief that it has a lot to do with gambling.”

When asked if she will be participating in the league through any team, Shetty said: “I’m just a small fish in comparison to all these sharks who will participate in the league. So, I’m just going to take a back seat and watch the fun.”
