Speaking to Mumbai Mirror, the B-Town girl mentioned that she won’t team up with Ness Wadia this time and would go alone. “Solo this time,” she told Mirror in a written letter.
When asked about the price at which she bought the franchise, Preity said, “It is 30 million dollars. It’s unfair to compare anything to the IPL. We will chat about (returns) after the season”.
According to Preity, she would not invest the money gained from the IPL in T20 Global league and said that the Stellenbosch chapter was planned much before the IPL media rights deal was penned on September 4.
“I had already decided to come on board before the media rights came out but yes, it definitely helps.” she said.
“This was not a planned move, I just went with the flow. Some things are meant to be. It also helped that Shah Rukh & Delhi (GMR) were there and that the overall numbers were working” stated the bubbly actress.
“The numbers have done the talking. Thank you Star TV, thank you BCCI, thank you IPL and thank you Lalit Modi,” she added.
Meanwhile, Faf du Plessis, is the captain of the Stellenbosch side and former New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming is its coach. The league will be played in November-December this year.
