CSK, MI, KKR and other teams reveals how many players they would like to retain for IPL 2018

The next season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be a grand one with a mega auction ahead of the tournament.

Fans will see, some big players signing up for new teams, but IPL governing council has reportedly decided to give franchises a chance to retain three of their key players.

Ahead of next year’s IPL auction, IPL chief operating officer, Hemang Amin, met with representatives of all teams to gather suggestions ahead of the final plan.

The council will meet again in the upcoming week where they will discuss the idea. They will conduct a workshop with all eight franchises on November 14 in which the final decision will be made on the proposal.

Before the final call, some of the officials suggested that the three players could be a combination of two Indians and one foreign player or two overseas and one Indian player.

Meanwhile, the current champions and the most successful IPL franchise, Mumbai Indians (MI) have revealed that they would like to retain as many as five players for IPL 2018.

Also, some franchises like Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) revealed that how many players they would like to retain.

As per Indian Express, KKR franchise wants to keep only one player from its current side and the rest of the squad will go in the auctions next year. So now, with many big names and specialists in their kitty, it would be very difficult for the franchises as to retain which player.

The 11th edition of IPL will also see the homecoming of Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) after two years of suspension. The CSK franchise has revealed that if given the option they would like to retain MS Dhoni for its 2018 IPL campaign.

On the other hand, Royals and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) want all its players to go under the hammer and do not want to retain any of its old names.
