Colin Munro becomes first batsman to smash three T20 International centuries

New Zealand’s Colin Munro has become the first-ever batsman to hit three T20 International centuries as he smacked 104 runs off just 53 balls against West Indies in the third and final match of the series at the Bay Oval on Wednesday.

Right behind him are fellow Kiwi Brendon McCullum, Zimbabwe’s Evin Williams, India’s Rohit Sharma and West Indies’ Chris Gayle – all who have two centuries each. Munro brought up his century in 47 balls before being dismissed by Carlos Brathwaite.

Moreover, this was Munro’s 3rd consecutive innings in excess of 50 runs and all came in the ongoing series against West Indies. He also became only second batsman to hit three 50-plus scores in a bilateral T20I series after Virat Kohli did against Australia in 2016.
